One Direction's Harry Styles and Liam Payne were moved to tears while visiting babies suffering from malaria during their Comic Relief trip to Africa.

The boyband members struggled to control their emotions as they were shown round the hospital emergency ward for a video to be shown on tonight's Let's Dance for Comic Relief.

In one snap, Harry buries his head in his shirt while clearly in tears and another shot shows Liam Payne wipe away tears as he comforts a sick child at their bedside.

The pair make a heartfelt plea in the clip for viewers to donate £5 to Red Nose Day, which could pay for a mosquito net to protect mothers and their children.

It's crazy to think that over half a million people are still dying every year from malaria in Africa, with 85% of the victims being children.

Speaking about One Direction's life-changing trip to visit those helped by Comic Relief, Liam said, "Going to Ghana to see for ourselves the difference money raised through Red Nose Day can make was a real eye opener and an emotional experience for all of us."

The boys might be back in the UK but that hasn't stopped Harry from continuing to do his part to raise funds as he is seen selling Red Nose Day cupcakes at One Direction's rehearsals.

The group have also donated the clothes they wore in Africa to Comic Relief to sell on eBay as part of the band's #1D4RND campaign, and recorded this year's official Comic Relief single, One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks).

One Direction released the video for the track after their performance at the Brtis and explained that they chose to film it on tour to save costs and give the money to the people who really need it.

The second of One Direction's moving films made during their Red Nose Day visit to Africa will be shown on Let's Dance for Comic Relief on 23 February 2013 on BBC One at 7pm.

Red Nose Day is back on Friday 15th March 2013, for more information please visit rednoseday.com.
