Formerly head designer at Balenciaga, Ghesquière gave an interview shortly after leaving his 17-year post at the French fashion house, which apparently cast the brand in a not so rosy light.
Though Balenciaga is now being headed up by Alexander Wang, big bosses are still looking to sue.
According to WWD, Balenciaga is seeking damages of an incredible 7 million euros. So what did Ghesquière say?
In an interview spread across 30 pages of System magazine, the designer is quoted as saying of his time at Balenciaga:
"It was all about branding. I don't have anything against that; actually, the thing that I'm most proud of is that it's become a big financial entity and will continue to exist.
"But I began to feel as though I was sucked dry, like they wanted to steal my identity while trying to homogenize things."
Awkward. Do you think it's a statement worth €7million though? Tweet us @handbagcom
